Riley's 3rd Birthday

May Happenings

We have been spending LOTS of time outside...it has been so nice. Riley is one of those kids that you have to drag inside kicking and screaming. I think he would sleep outside if we would let him. I can't believe he will be THREE on May 24th. He finished his speech therapy last month and passed the assessment with flying colors. Now he talks NON STOP! He is still going to OT once a month but will soon finish that as well. Kindermusik ended this past Monday and he will really miss his buddies and Miss Lisa. He is still taking gymnastics every week and LOVES it!

Maddie will be 10 months old on May 25. She has such a sweet, fun-loving personality. She always wakes up with a smile on her face. Her favorite thing to do is to start clapping everytime she hears music. She also has a very contagious laugh.

I just finished up a round of steroid injections for hip/back/leg pain. After much therapy and not much improvement, my doctor sent me for an MRI yesterday. I didn't think I was claustrophobic until I had this test run. I'm glad it's over. Now I'm just waiting for the results.

March Updates

Maddie turned 8 months on March 25. So hard to believe! She had an appointment with the cardiologist last Friday for a check up on her heart issue. She has a bicuspid aortic valve instead of a tricuspid valve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicuspid_aortic_valve). We anticipated that the doctor would run another echocardiogram on Maddie but after he checked her out, he said that everything looked and sounded great so she didn't need an echo this time. Thank goodness! She will have another check up in 6 months. We are relieved that the appointment went so well.

Here are some picts of Riley when he was sick. He had vomiting, fever, sniffles, cough, and just felt plain rotten for a week. Once he started feeling better, he enjoyed playing ball with his daddy. Of course he had to pick some flowers first.
